WHO ARE THE WORKSHOP LEADERS?

Jenny Wanasek (B.F.A.) has distinguished herself as both director and actor with the Milwaukee Repertory, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Next Act, First Stage, and the Milwaukee Public Theatre among others. Her training includes interactive and transformative theatre with Augusto Boal, and Beyond Racism and Ally building with Healing Our Nation, as well as technique training in voice, speech, movement, and mime. Her applied theatre work includes interactive projects, new play development with teens, and technique workshops for children and adults. Jenny currently teaches acting and theatre techniques at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Mark Weinberg (Ph.D.) has over 25 years of university teaching experience and has directed more than 60 productions on campuses, in the community, and in professional theatres. He has studied with Augusto Boal since 1992 and has conducted applied theatre workshops and training sessions for educators, administrators, students, social activists, and community organizations in the U.S., Australia, and Canada. His experience also includes oral and written communication instruction at the university level and leadership training with Karate America Professional Schools. Mark has published and lectured widely on Boal and Community-Based Theatre and currently teaches these theatre techniques at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. (detailed resume) |
